After the Herd

After the Herd is a surreal sculptural installation of three elongated sheep whose fragile forms suggest both vulnerability and resilience. Their burnt, weathered surfaces evoke exhaustion, endurance and survival. I use sheep as metaphors for the pressures and burdens many people carry through life.

Influenced by philosopher Byung-Chul Han, the work reflects on a society driven by constant self-improvement, performance and productivity. Constructed from steel, shade netting, resin, cement and faux fur, the sculptures explore themes of pressure, belonging, burnout and perseverance.
